TDSi by Hirsch has released version 3.3 of its GARDiS access control software, adding new intruder management capabilities alongside changes to credential administration and security controls.
The update integrates GARDiS with Ajax Intruder Cloud, allowing authorised operators to discover and monitor Ajax hubs, devices and groups from within the GARDiS interface. They can also manage functions including arming, disarming and bypass settings without switching between systems.
Intruder panels, zones and groups can be incorporated into GARDiS Cause & Effect rules, enabling defined responses to be automated. Where direct panel integration is unavailable, GARDiS controllers can provide basic intruder functionality through their outputs.
GARDiS 3.3 introduces a universal “Card or Fob” credential type that can be used across virtually all supported reader and card technologies, removing the need to select specific decode types.
Existing credentials are automatically migrated during upgrades and can be verified before changes are applied. Biometric credentials and IP lock whitelisting are also incorporated into the unified model.
The changes are designed to reduce configuration errors and simplify routine administration.
The release adds configurable password rules, banned-word lists and automatic account lockout. New event dashboard permissions control access to live and archived events, while organisation-based filtering can limit the information users can access.
Saved reports can also be restricted to their creator or shared with designated users.
Other improvements include faster bulk database updates, enhanced Active Directory monitoring and more flexible event management.
GARDiS 3.3 also adds support for the latest STid V3 mobile credential API, 32-bit Wiegand readers and credentials, and OSDP readers configured as In/Out readers. Simplified Chinese has been added as an interface language, while the platform has moved to .NET 10.
Tina Pemberton, director SMB Software at TDSi by Hirsch, said the update was intended to make GARDiS “faster, simpler and even more secure”, while opening the platform to integrations such as Ajax intruder management.
The release is the latest development of TDSi by Hirsch’s access control platform as the company continues its transition to the Hirsch brand.
