Level 4 – Recommend: Systems identify risk patterns and potential device degradation while recommending prioritised interventions.

Level 5 – Act: Systems can execute pre-approved response workflows while maintaining audit trails, allowing organisations to move towards more orchestrated security operations.

Together, the five levels illustrate how security can evolve from simply identifying events to understanding, anticipating and responding to them more effectively.
Moving beyond alerts

The framework reflects a wider shift taking place across the security industry.

Security operations are moving from monitoring to detection, alerts to summaries, isolated information to connected context, reactive responses to predictive insights, and manual processes to orchestrated action.
