Milestone Systems has launched XProtect Evidence Manager, a digital evidence management system designed to enhance the capabilities of its XProtect video management software (VMS). The new extension introduces more efficient workflows, simplified sharing options, and flexible storage solutions.
“XProtect Evidence Manager advances our commitment to the open-platform philosophy that defines Milestone,” said Tim Palmquist, Vice President, Americas, Milestone Systems. “By extending this approach to evidence management, we’re giving organizations the freedom to choose how they implement, share, and store digital evidence, on their terms.”
The extension introduces three key innovations:
Workflow efficiency: The tool streamlines case management by enabling collaboration with external parties and consolidating various types of digital evidence from multiple sources into a single, organized case.
License-free sharing: Users can securely share evidence via a password-protected link without requiring additional software or licenses, eliminating the need for physical media like DVDs or USB drives.
Storage flexibility: Evidence can be archived on-premises, in the cloud, or within hybrid environments, offering greater control over data storage strategies.
XProtect Evidence Manager is fully integrated with the XProtect VMS platform and is compatible with analytics tools such as Milestone’s BriefCam.
“This transformation represents a shift toward greater openness and user control,” added Palmquist. “By emphasizing freedom and choice, we’re helping redefine how organizations think about managing digital evidence over its entire lifecycle.”
The new extension will initially be available in the United States, with global rollout expected in 2026.
