MAGIRUS RECORD DELIVERY FOR GERMANY´S NORTH EAST

Magirus, the world’s leading manufacturer of turntable ladders, has successfully delivered 40
M32L-AS vehicles to municipali􀦞es in Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as
part of a centralised procurement. The project was concluded with the handover of the 40th
Ar􀦞culated Single Extension (AS) turntable ladder to the State School and Technical Centre for
Fire and Disaster Protec􀦞on (LSTE) in Eisenhü􀂂enstadt, where it will be used to train new
personnel and is equipped with special features.

Centralised procurements such as these offer clear advantages: streamlined planning, more
efficient produc􀦞on processes, lower costs per vehicle and op􀦞mised training for the
emergency services. For smaller municipali􀦞es in par􀦞cular, which o􀁛en have limited financial
and organisa􀦞onal capaci􀦞es, such collec􀦞ve projects are an effec􀦞ve way of acquiring modern technology. The tender was organised jointly by LSTE and the Brandenburg Central Police Service (ZDPol). This coopera􀦞on has already proven its worth in the past with other major procurement campaigns organised by the federal states.

The vehicles are based on a 320 hp IVECO chassis, comply with DIN 14043 and are equipped
with the Magirus RescueSupport System RS270 and a powerful water cannon (up to 2,500
l/min). Addi􀦞onal op􀦞ons, such as camera systems, extended control func􀦞ons or special loads, could be selected by the local authori􀦞es as required.

With a maximum working height of 32 meters and a lateral outreach of up to 23 meters, the
M32L-AS is ideal for urban applica􀦞ons. The ar􀦞culated arm at the top of the ladder ensures a
high degree of flexibility, for example when working across roofs or in narrow backyards. The
so􀁛ware-supported stabilisa􀦞on of the ladder set enables precise manoeuvres and high travel
speeds with li􀂂le influence from wind or movements in the cage.

The delivery is also in line with Magirus’ recently presented transforma􀦞on plan: increasing
modularisa􀦞on and the use of series effects at several loca􀦞ons are intended to achieve increasing produc􀦞on figures and shorter delivery 􀦞mes in the future – while maintaining high
quality and increasing delivery reliability.
