Teledyne Gas and Flame Detection has launched a new controller designed to provide scalable gas and flame detection across complex industrial environments.
The MCX32-TP combines a touchscreen human-machine interface (HMI) with a modular architecture and high channel capacity. Teledyne says the system is intended for applications including oil and gas, petrochemicals, and water and wastewater, where expanding sensor networks and distributed assets can increase the demands placed on safety control systems.
The controller is available in standard configurations supporting four, 16, 32 or 64 channels, with the architecture capable of scaling to 128 channels. The company says this allows the platform to accommodate expanding detection requirements without requiring a change to the underlying controller architecture.
The touchscreen HMI is available in sizes ranging from 5 to 15 inches and is designed to provide system configuration, real-time monitoring and visualisation of alarm conditions.
Connectivity is a key feature of the system, with support for Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP and BACnet, alongside MQTT and web-based remote access. Dual LAN ports, serial interfaces and modular I/O options are intended to support integration with existing plant infrastructure.
The MCX32-TP can monitor gas detection sensors and other field devices and can be supplied in standard or customised configurations. Its modular design also supports configurable enclosure options and wireless integration.
According to Teledyne, the platform is intended to address the challenges faced by industrial operators managing increasingly connected and complex gas detection systems, while providing an alternative to legacy architectures that can limit expansion and connectivity.

For Middle East operators, the controller is aimed at sectors where gas and flame detection forms a critical part of industrial safety infrastructure, particularly oil and gas and petrochemical facilities.
