Future-proof real-time spectrum analyzers at EuMW 2025 Aaronia SPECTRAN® V6 enables reliable measurements not only in the microwave range

Strickscheid, September 8, 2025. Microwave, millimeter wave and terahertz technology, 6G and IoT, as well as radar technologies, radar signal processing, algorithms and AI are the dominant topics at the European Microwave Conference 2025 in Utrecht. From September 23 to 25, 2025, Aaronia AG will be presenting its market-leading SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzer solutions and a broadband antenna range at the most important trade fair for microwaves and RF in Europe.

Aaronia will show the fast, USB-based SPECTRAN® V6 solutions at the largest booth, B026, directly at the main entrance of EuMW. With a real-time bandwidth of up to 490MHz and a sweep speed of 3THz/s, the SPECTRAN® V6 Xplorer is the new reference in terms of speed. Equipped with waveguide connections, the analyzer allows measurements in the millimeter wave range that are not possible with conventional cables.

Waveguides transmit the signal without distortion or loss. They are less susceptible to external disturbances such as electromagnetic interference, which is important in an environment with many electrical devices and radio signals. As a result, the signal remains clean and the spectrum analyzer’s measurements are not distorted. The SPECTRAN® V6 Xplorer sets a new benchmark with measurements up to 140GHz and still offers the benefits of low-cost USB devices.

Challenges in WLAN and mobile communications
However, speed and precise measurements are not only required in the microwave range, but also in the new WLAN structures. For example, the introduction of 320 MHz channels in the WLAN standard IEEE 802.11be (Wi-Fi 7) poses new challenges for measurement technology. After all, the entire channel width with short-term interference, transients or burst signals within the 320 MHz spectrum must be recorded simultaneously and in real time. Added to this are the dynamics of the spectrum in the high-frequency range. Modern WLAN signals work with extremely short packet propagation times and adaptive modulations. Fast FFT processing is important here, as is the largest possible working memory for trigger data and ideally also the reconstruction of signals time-correlated with I/Q data.

The situation is similar in the mobile communications sector with 5G and 6G. In each case, a wide range of frequency bands are used that have significantly higher frequencies than previous mobile communications standards. One example of this is the extremely high frequency (EHF) band from 30 GHz to 300 GHz. The analysis of such high-frequency signals requires spectrum analyzers that offer high frequency resolution and sufficient bandwidth to represent the complex structure of the signals. In addition, 5G systems use beamforming techniques and massive MIMO (multiple input multiple output), which further complicates the analysis. Aaronia supplies equipment variants with the SPECTRAN® V6 5G for this purpose and for measurements in the mobile radio environment. The device also supports the WiGig 45 GHz (802.11aj) and 60 GHz (802.11ad/aj/ay) profiles, which are now included in the latest version of the RTSA Suite PRO for signal recording and data analysis.

Broadband antenna range
In order to fully exploit the performance of the SPECTRAN® V6 real-time spectrum analyzers, the world market leader from Germany is also presenting its broadband antenna range. Included here are the brand new PowerLOG® horn antennas up to 70GHz as well as the real-time DF solutions based on the improved and further developed IsoLOG® DF DF and tracking antenna. Also on display will be the new IsoLOG® DF 16-10180 with a frequency range of 1GHz – 18 GHz and the IsoLOG® DF 16-20400 with a frequency range of 2GHz – 40 GHz.

Visit us from September 23 – 25 at the European Microwave Exhibition 2025 in Utrecht at our booth B026 directly at the main entrance. Experience the revolution in real-time spectrum analysis with the new SPECTRAN® V6 series with waveguide technology and matching accessories.
