Equivital has announced the release of the eq LifeBand, a next-generation wearable designed to protect industrial workers from the growing threat of heat-related injuries.
Developed and manufactured in both the UK and US, the eq LifeBand is a lightweight, cost-effective, and highly accurate armband that monitors core body temperature in real time. It offers an advanced, proactive approach to heat safety as extreme temperatures increasingly impact sectors such as construction, oil and gas, and manufacturing.
The device issues real-time alerts when workers approach heat stress thresholds, encourages hydration through scheduled prompts, and features integrated Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) monitoring to automatically generate customised work-rest cycles based on environmental conditions.
Equivital’s eq LifeBand integrates seamlessly with its Black Ghost V2 platform, enabling organisations to collect and analyse data, respond to risks in real time, and make informed decisions that prioritise employee safety.
Anmol Sood, CEO of Equivital, stated: “The eq LifeBand is the result of years of collaboration with leading heat stress experts. It is designed to deliver real protection for workers through accessible, intelligent technology that meets today’s heat safety demands.”
With full ACGIH compliance and support for multiple heat stress algorithms, the eq LifeBand is set to become a vital component of modern workplace safety programmes, delivering enhanced personalisation, usability, and protection in heat-prone environments.
